Me neither. I'd never heard of it. But the rug hooking shop closest to me was offering a free junk journaling class. So I met up with Lauren ( of Rugs and Pugs) and went to the class. It's creative, and I had fun. I'm just not sure it's something I'm all that interested in. I can't cover up with it like a quilt, I can't put it on the floor to keep my feet from getting cold. Do you place them in a basket on the coffee table??
The class was taught by Linda Koch (Primdollie). She makes lovely little bears, among other things. The class was held at Wool Yankers, in Wellington, Ohio.
Linda provided kits, she had more fabrics, papers, and doo dads to pick from. Plus Lauren and I both brought more "stuff".
On to the journals.
This is where mine is at. I will finish at least this one. I'm not sure if I'll make more it not. Part of me says, NO, Not another craft. We shall see.
Back in the day my plans were to do that to old books. So like you and Lauren I purchased lots of doo-dads and papers at Michaels, purchased some old books from the thrift shop to do them. I still have all my purchases and haven't made one dang one. Hope you have better luck.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Sue, and thank you for taking pictures that I failed to take. Like you, not sure how much I will pursue junk journaling but it was fun.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was fun but like you I do not need one more craft

I've heard of it, but am not even tempted to get involved. The last thing I need is to start collecting bits and bobs "with good intentions" for another hobby.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sue for taking and posting pictures since I totally spaced out and took none! So happy you came too even if you’re not sure you’ll ever make another or sure what to do with the first one we will sure show you if you like! Thanks again! ❤️
ReplyDeleteLooked like you and Lauren had fun, but not something I would get in to. Janice
