I finally remembered to take pictures.
There were only 5 of us today. But it's a good group. The friendships formed mean so much to me.
Now on with the show.
Barb brought a few items for show and tell. She does such nice work. Her stitches are so even.
This was a Sue Spargo class I think she said. It's a pincushion and filled with sand.
This is Barb's current project. I love using red, white, and blues. And her colors for this were fabulous. Said they were just something from her stash.
She was telling us that when she soaked in the walnut dye bath the red bled onto the white and had become quite faded. She used RIT color out to get the red out of the white parts. And the red parts definitely look more pink. I loved the faded look. Jo does not. Said she'll hook another one. No walnut stain next time.
Michelle picked up this purse yesterday at a hook in. She said she just had to have it. Her mom died just last month, and mom loved watching the squirrels. Did you notice the shape of it is an acorn. Beautiful piece.
And me. I'm almost done. Just a few little fill in spots.
And that's if for today folks. Ohio jumped from cold and rainy to a forecast of 90 tomorrow. I'm not a 90 loving type person. I like it about 75.

That homespun corner block is such a fun touch.
ReplyDeleteLOVE Jo’s faded flag 🇺🇸 !!!
Sheila’s mats are great.
Michelle showed me the purse at the hook in. What sweet memories for her.
Soon you will be starting a new project. Love the drab colors of this one.
Sorry I had to miss H & T, but sometimes a person must stay home and try to be successful…though I failed miserably 🤷♀️
Not successful…PRODUCTIVE!
ReplyDeleteVery productive group. I like the faded flag look but how disappointing for her and all that work.
ReplyDeleteOut weather this week is going to be like that. I am with you I do not like 90s.

How fun to add some homespun fabric to a rug. A great idea. Everyone's projects look oh so good. I even like the faded flag color myself. Janice
ReplyDeleteThat is the prettiest penny rug(mat) I’ve ever seen! How did she cut out the floral motifs and stitch them all in place so perfectly. Those stitches must be tiny.Just wonderful! The hooked pieces are lovely too.
ReplyDeleteall projects are so pretty! personally love Jo's faded glory ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects! I love everything. I accidently found my way to your blog, and what a treat. I am also in Ohio! In the northeastern most corner. It's been cold and rainy here too. Good weather to start a new project and avoid all the yard work that's waiting for better weather. :)
