Horse on a Hill

Years ago I bought several punch needle patterns. It was yet another craft I was going to try. I tried, but never quite got the hang of it. So there sat the patterns. I recently reached out to Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm. I asked her if I could enlarge the punch needle pattern so I could hook it. She said yes. Yay! Oh yay!

I have a spot in my kitchen that I swap out smallish pieces. This is where I will place it. I got busy. And here it is. It's hooked mostly with leftover worms in a 6 cut. It's not my favorite to hook with. Although at one time it was.

I watch Lauren hook in 8.5 and 9s. I love the look. I bought the cutter heads in those sizes, so we shall see.

Back to the Horse on the Hill. It's looking great. I love the colors, the scrappiness. I even used some velvet for the horse's spots.

If you remember I'm giving up my sewing/craft room and turning it into a bedroom for myself. This will free up a bedroom for my grandsons. They are here every other week and I want them to have their own space. I'm almost done organizing my new room. I moved my bookshelves with my beloved books in there. And I kept the wool and hooking stuff too. It's packed, but pleasant. My quilting stuff, painting stuff and scrapbooking stuff are now downstairs. It'll take me a while to organize those areas.

I also need to be working outside to get the gardens tucked in and ready for winter. Winter. Boo. But it'll be here before you know it.

I've gotten so much done this week. Next week I plan to attend a civil war quilt talk being given at our rug hooking guild. Then Thursday will head to Jenny Smallridge's fall festival for a two day hook in. I need to get a new project started as the one I'm working on presently will not take up the 2 days of hooking.

Happy Saturday, Sue
