Camp is Over

We finished driving home today. The weather was cooperative. We got snow for just a couple minutes. It was sunny for most of the way. And then we hit Ohio. Gray and gloomy, and luckily no snow or rain.

I chose an antique reproduction piece to hook, a gray dog holding a basket. My teacher was Lucille Festa. And my travel buddy for the week was Lauren (from Rugs & Pugs). I had such a good time. But I am glad to be home. I missed my family, I missed my dogs

End of day 1.

End of day 2.

 End of day 3.

End of day 4, end of camp.

I'm still not sure about the shapes along the top. I've hooked that middle one and right one twice and am still not happy with the color. I'll sit and look at it over the next several days and figure it out. If you have suggestions I'd love to hear them.

This weekend we are to get blasted with snow. I've been reading 8-18". I sure hope not. I'll stock up on fresh groceries, bring in some more firewood and be prepared as best I can.

I sure missed this little dude. He sure looks happy.

Happy to be home, Sue

  3. As one who doesn't hook rugs, my first thought is to keep toward the black/dark gray/dark taupe colors, keep the sun(?), and let the dog & basket have all the attention. I had to go look at the original rug...love the dog. I'm not usually a fan of those big blotchy backgrounds. It seems like they steal to much attention from the focal point.
