New Hooker

My grandson has been asking me to teach him how to hook. Today was the day. He didn't catch on right away and got frustrated. He is only eight. We'll try again another day.

I got the snowman all hooked, trimmed, zigzagged, and turned under. I still need to make and sew the binding on.

It's so hot. 92 and stifling in the shade. Even hotter if out in the sun. Not fun.

  1. Mac sure was concentrating. Hopefully next time will be better.
You hooked the ⛄️ quickly. Very cute.
It is stinkin’ hot and I like summer…but not this. Just watered all my crocks, wheelbarrow, etc and I thought I was going to melt.

  3. Hi, I couldn't help but notice that he's hooking towards himself, and maybe he would do better to try hooking away? I'm self taught and that's what worked for me and I have also helped new hookers overcome frustration with this tip. Hope you don't mind. He's adorable!

    1. How different each of us hooks. I, too, am self taught and always hook towards me. I turn my frame all the time because that is the only direction I can hook.
