I continue to plod along on the Birds in the Garden rug. I've finished hooking many of the motifs. This week I added the two squirrels, next I'll give them some acorns to munch on.
I'm mostly liking it. I didn't mean to make another "fall" rug. But I sure do like working with browns and rusty colors. My son once asked me if I make anything besides brown rugs. Brown is my go to background color to use.
This is the rug that is usually down in front of the wood stove. As I mentioned, I like making brown and rust colored rugs.
The weather has been so cold. But at least here in Ohio we are prepared for this. My friends in Florida and Georgia not so much. A lot of folks raised in the south have never seen snow. So while enjoying it's beauty it also brings everything to a standstill. Mostly there are no snow plow or salt trucks. I remember being told that there was one truck for five counties. So we would just wait til it warmed up and melted. I miss Georgia winters.
I have one amaryllis that is going to bloom. I don't know if this will be the red one or the white and pink one. I'm hoping for the pink one.
Stay warm. Sue
I really like your rug, you are brave to have it in front of your wood stove with sparks flying on refill.
ReplyDeleteThe poor south it is crazy the amount of snow they got!!
We are colder than we have been in several years. The lakes are frozen solid makes for happy fishermen

I love how you changed up the pattern. See, your changes is far better than the pattern you purchased. Love the log cabin and everything else.
ReplyDeleteOOOHHH, be still my heart! I love that heart rug and have a photo of the original antique but your colors make it even better.
