A Little Getaway
I had planned for weeks a little getaway with one of my hooking friends. Two days of talking, hooking, eating, shopping and whatever else would come along. We left at 8AM, hooked and stopped to eat lunch, hooked and did a bit of shopping, hooked and made dinner. And then the phone call that changed everything. Her dad died. We were two hours away. We packed quickly and drove home. I drove, in her van, at night, and it poured. I have trouble seeing at night due to the halo effect around each and every light, brought on by my multifocal lenses implanted after my cataract surgery. Then we hit road construction, the kind with concrete barriers on each side. In the rain, at night. Oh my. We literally passed by my house so I could deliver her to her folks house. But I'm glad I was with her, I'm glad I could get her home safely.
I did get a couple more flowers hooked. I'm not sure the background color my teacher picked is going to work. Some of the flowers and leaves do not have enough contrast with the background. I think I'll take it up to Connie Bradley's shop in Wellington and ask for more help. I had taken this rug to a camp because as much as I like it, I didn't know where to start. The teacher helped me with the white flowers, and the rust colored flowers, and picked out the background color. Then told me she didn't know what else to tell me. She was out of ideas. What???? I was and still am so disappointed with this instructor. I paid for her instructions and hooking knowledge, and she has no ideas, no further help. Yeah, I'll never have a class with her again.
So here's my progress. The name of the pattern is Low Country Garden by Visions of Ewe.
